True chip time was 3:08:10. At about mile 8, I knew that I wasn't getting anywhere near sub-3. BUT this was a great race for me. Well before the halfway point, I felt myself fading. Even though I knew I wasn't getting my goal, I decided early to give this race my very best. I gave 100% and feel really good about it. The neatest thing is that around mile 19, it paid off that I kept pushing, as I passed a few people that had passed me when I was fading earlier. I'm not sure why, but I definitely got a second wind about 75% through the race and kept it until the end. If think I ran a really good race and there's not much I could've done differently during the race. After finishing, my fatigue hit me like a train and I had nothing left, not even for a really short and slow cool down (I tried). Something I can improve in the long term: get back to 140 lbs. I think that's the biggest difference between my performance today and my PR at STG last year when I was 10+ pounds lighter.

Great race, nice that you got that second wind. This can be a tricky course and a lot different that STGM. Good work, get some rest and recovery.

Thanks Jeff, it is a tricky course with a lot of variation. I really liked how early it started, and it explains why the half marathon started so late 2 years ago!
